Dr Stuart Johnston is a Senior Lecturer in Applied Mathematics in the School of Mathematics and Statistics at The University of Melbourne. His research interests include multiscale modelling, collective behaviour, and computational statistical inference. He applies these techniques to applications that include whale migration, nanobiotechnology, and cancer growth, with a particular focus on studying the role of heterogeneity in each of these populations. He works in close collaboration with many experimental researchers and co-leads the Quantitative Biology Group.
